The following is my experienced opinion:

Brokers, agents and dispatchers, all synonymous, are in the majority the most hateful dishonest, anti trucker thugs in the entire trucking industry.

These agents together with unscroupulous shippers and receivers have banned together to destroy the owner operator and company drivers or US origin.

These traitors treat drivers like bugs on a windshield.

Agents refuse to disclose the contents of the load, the correct miles and directions.

No driver should be required to take a grab bag load and I will never do so.

No driver should be required to take a load with falsified miles, I will never do that.

No driver should be required to take a load without directions and support while driving to a destination. I will drop a load in a heartbeat without this cooperation and common sense consideration.

Agents will never reveal the rate sheet. All drivers are entitled to a copy of the rate sheet by Federal Law.

Also, Agents will refuse to pay a driver within 14 days as required by Federal Law unless the driver agrees to being charged a kickback of usually 5% to the agent. This is extortion and racketeering and amounts to 920 percent interest per year.

Not all agents are crooks, just most of them. They lie, cheat, steel, obstruct, harass and threaten drivers. They are nice when they want a driver to take a load but when the driver realizes that the miles are not correct, there are not directions and the load is not what was represented, the agent becomes nasty and hateful. The driver may sign a tenatative confirmation and is told that all the necessary information will be on the actual confirmation upon being loaded and receiving the Bill or Lading. This is called bate and switch.

When this event is substantial, I will demand that there be correction to the rate or I will drop the load immediately.

I will not be cheated, lied to and abused by agents, shippers and receivers. No driver should tolerate such chicanery.

Since my trucking company has it's own agents and I only deal with tried and true outside agents, I do not have near the problem.

Once a driver has been lied to, cheated or given false information and directions, they should be careful next time.
